Rifleman Pearce 2/6th City of London Rifles

I have just found your web site,I am interested in history of the great war camp site.
My great uncle, John Odell Pearce, Rifleman 321906 was camped at Sutton Veny between July 1916 and January 1917 with 15 Platoon, 2 Section, D Company, 2/6th City of London Rifles.
I have attached a photo taken at the camp during is stay there, would it be possible to find out any more information on his stay at the camp and if all possible name any one from the photo. My uncle is the middle man back row.
Regards Ian Pearce.

From Carolyn Scott, Australia

I live in Australia and have in my possession a small 1940's army Christmas Card bearing the insignia of No.3 Training Battalion (Drivers) R.A.S.C. Sutton Veny Camp, Warminster, Wilts.
The verse inside reads:- "To Wish You a Very Merry Christmas (1945) and a Happy New Year (1946).   From Ted and Dan x"

There is also a P.S.  "The doll may be a bit premature but Sylvia Joy will grow and "Daisy" (the doll) will always be the same age."
I'm not sure who this card was sent to (possibly a Lily or Emily) as it was found along with some old family photos but I would be delighted to hear from anyone who can throw some light on the subject or identify Ted or Dan.  I look forward eagerly to a response.
