DRAFT MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF SUTTON VENY PARISH COUNCIL held on Thursday 6th April 2017

Present: Cllrs Oxlade (Chair), Gaydon, Goodman, Guerri-Fear, Lusty, Morris & Walker

2625. Acceptance of apologies for absence

None present

2627. To receive declarations of interest
Cllr Walker Re: 2626 – 17/01776/FUL Land North of The Kennels, Norton Road

2628. To confirm and sign minutes of the last meeting
Minutes of the meeting held on 2nd March 2017 were circulated prior to this meeting and were accepted as a true record.

2629. Arrangements for Tidy Up morning
The Clerk has arranged the loan of the litter picking equipment from Wiltshire Council and Cllr Guerri-Fear has advertised the event on posters around the village. Meeting at the school car park at 10am on 8th May. Arrangements for cleaning the bus shelter at Springhead were also discussed.

2630. Forthcoming Elections
It was announced by Wiltshire Council yesterday that there were 8 nominations received for the 9 vacancies on Sutton Veny Parish Council and as such no election is necessary. All those nominated will be co-opted at the Annual Council Meeting on 9th May.
Cllr Gaydon sadly decided not to stand and has resigned from the Parish Council. The Chairman and fellow Councillors thanked Zaria for all of her hard work and enthusiasm during her time on the Council.
The vacancy will be advertised in the newsletter.

2631. Chairman’s Report
The Chairman was pleased to report that the Village Hall trustees have managed to find a volunteer for the editor of the newsletter.
Brian Long has arranged some replacement bunting and it is hoped that this will be in erected by Brian and Mike Carroll ahead of Anzac day. The Parish Council are grateful for their continued effort with this difficult task.

17/00131/FUL – Bugle Cottage, Bests Lane – Proposed Garage – APPROVE WITH CONDITIONS
Parish Council consultations:
17/01776/FUL – Land North of The Kennels, Norton Road – Erection of 8 dwellings – NO COMMENTS

2634. Clerk’s report and correspondence received
The Clerk advised that the Sutton Veny entry into this year’s Best Kept Village Competition has been submitted.

2635. Matters raised for discussion only
Cllr Guerri-Fear reported more fly-tipping in Five Ash Lane
Cllr Morris has been approached regarding the commercial vehicles regularly parked at the entrance to Five Ash Lane and also raised the issue of dogs on the Alexander Memorial Field.
Cllr Oxlade asked that the Parish Council look into new farm buildings and landfill in the area of Parsonage Down Farm and Kingsdown Farm.

The Clerk will write the report for the village hall newsletter.

The next meeting of the Parish Council will be the Annual Parish Meeting followed by the Annual Council Meeting starting at 6:30pm on Tuesday 9th May 2017 in the village hall.
