DRAFT MINUTES OF THE SUTTON VENY ANNUAL PARISH MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 9TH MAY 2017 AT 6.30 PM IN THE VILLAGE HALL

Present:
Councillors Oxlade (Chair), King, Lusty & Walker
10 members of the public

Apologies for absence:
Cllrs Guerri-Fear, Morris & Owen

Confirm & sign minutes of last Annual Parish Meeting
Minutes of the last meeting on 4th May 2016 had been circulated previously. These were accepted as a true record.
Proposed: Cllr Walker Seconded: Cllr King

Presentation of Parish Council Community Award
The Parish Council Community Award cup which was kindly donated by former resident and Councillor, Mrs Anna Addington, was this year presented to Colin Baker. Colin was a patient and efficient editor of the Village Hall Newsletter for 14 years. He has sadly now stepped down due to health reasons, but the Chairman thanked him for his outstanding contribution to such an important vehicle for communication for us all and wished him well for the future.

Matters arising from Minutes.
None raised

Chairman’s Report. The Chairman presented his report for the year 2016/17 to the meeting. Copy attached.

Financial Report. The Clerk presented a financial report for the year 2016/17. Copy attached.

Reports from Village Organisations
Reports were read to the meeting from the following organisations:
Trustees of the Village Hall by Mr R Jackman
Women’s Institute by Mrs P Carroll
Sutton Veny School by Miss R Brotherton
Sutton Veny PCC by Mrs A Elliott
Neighbourhood Watch by Dr P Strangeways
Community Emergency Volunteer by Dr P Strangeways (nothing to report)
Trustees of Alexander Memorial Field a verbal report by Mr B Long
Flower Show Committee read by Cllr King on behalf of Mrs R Guerri-Fear

Matters raised – for discussion only
Brief discussions took place on the topics of school fundraising, dog fouling on the Alexander Memorial Field and planned enhancements to St John’s Church.
