Do bits and pieces turn up around the village from time to time ? With thousands of troops billeted in fields around Five Ash lane it would appear likely. Say some chaps with metal detectors looking last week. Just wondered.

I've found the odd regiemntal cap badge in our garden over the past 30 years!

I am sure there must lots of bits and pieces around the areas of the old camps, the majority of which are now just fields. I am not sure of the law if something is found ?

Interesting to hear that some people have been seen using metal detectors in the area. I would have thought the attraction would have been gold coins and booty from the Saxon and Roman era rather than old military stuff. Also I suppose there is a slightly greater chance of finding something around the village than winning on the lottery ! This is based my evidence of winning nothing on the lottery to date !

Happy Easter to all !
